Matthew Mendoza is an associate attorney who works in insurance defense, primarily on personal injury cases and representing health care providers in professional misconduct suits and investigations. Matthew received his Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in philosophy from the University at Buffalo SUNY in 2020, where he graduated with honors. Matthew attended the University at Buffalo School of Law, where he had diverse practical experiences and graduated in 2023. In addition to achieving high marks in law school, Matthew took several classes focusing on Environmental Law, Employment and Labor Law, and Property Law.
During his time in law school, Matthew was a member of the Environmental Advocacy Clinic, wherein he was able to work alongside clients from across the globe on a wide range of projects. Some clinic projects he worked on include: helping to secure aid for Puerto Rican farmers after Hurricane Maria, working with various professionals in India to secure a Ramsar designation for a system of lakes in the Panchpota region, opposing expansion of landfills, drafting proposed ordinances for local municipalities, and helping to appeal school suspensions for local school systems. This diverse body of clinic work has given Matthew experience in working for clients of all different backgrounds, nationalities, and professions. In addition to his time in the clinic, Matthew spent multiple semesters interning for Judge Henry J. Nowak, where he gained valuable experience drafting and editing decisions, observing courtroom proceedings, and performing legal research on active cases.
Outside of his legal work, Matthew enjoys sports, being outdoors, and spending time with his pets and loved ones.
